Courtdland Place 6
A FADED COLONIAL REVIVAL, THOUGHTFULLY RESTORED TO ITS ORIGINAL GRANDEUR.
AN ARCHITECTURAL LEGACY, PRESERVED AND BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE WITH INTENTION.
Originally built in 1909 as the inaugural residence on Courtlandt Place, this Colonial Revival home was once described as a “white wedding cake of a house.” Designed by Sanguinet and Staats for banker C.L. Neuhaus, the home had suffered years of unsympathetic alterations and neglect. Undeterred by an inspection deeming its condition near total failure, the team embarked on a multi-year restoration to return it to its original splendor. Guided by historic architectural plans, artisans recreated intricate plasterwork, wood trim, and structural details, while original features such as staircases, fireplace woodwork, and brass hardware were carefully preserved. What once stood on the brink has now been reimagined—both structurally and aesthetically—for the century to come.
